Courtesy Lincoln, “the new exclusive home of Lincoln in Portland,” introduces its approach to the luxury car experience in a recently launched commercial. As the ad smoothly describes, “those small perfect touches that light you up, that set you free, that bring you home,” guess what home their featured car comes to? Spoiler alert. It’s ours!
We enjoyed this one-of-a-kind opportunity and a glimpse into commercial production
A ‘model’ home
We had a car for sale in our driveway this summer, so when I received a random call, I assumed it was a car inquiry. To my surprise, it was a scouting agent who noted the phone number on the sign for the car, but instead, called about our home. In his search for locations for a commercial, he thought our house and yard perfectly fit the ad concept.
Courtesy Lincoln just built a brand-new showroom here in Portland. And it’s all about a luxury experience, where the clientele enjoys refreshments as they customize their car purchase. They wanted to use our driveway and front exterior as the “home” of the buyer of a new Lincoln Nautilus. Equating our house to a luxury experience? What a compliment.
Courtesy Lincoln video shoot day
The process began with the arrival of the Watson Creative crew, the team responsible for the commercial footage and production. When you imagine this process, you think it could be a full day of activity; however, they captured what they needed using regular cameras and a drone in a little over an hour. That was a surprise to me, but it was fun to observe the creativity in motion.
We enjoyed meeting the talent, Mahsa Darabi, a super sweet and friendly actress. They had a hair and make-up team make her camera ready, down to the precise lint rolling of her pants.
The commercial references “the shape, the light, the feel” and “those small perfect touches.” Can you see the perfect touches in this image? The color coordination of the car and the house details, and her pants and the door. What a great composition!
And CUT
Witnessing this creative process from concept to completion was fascinating. In comparison, both our architecture world and this commercial production balance art with technical precision, and success relies on the careful consideration of the details. In the end, I guess that goes for the beauty of a luxury car too.
Matt Watson, CEO of Watson Creative, said, “The commercial turned out wonderful. The client is beyond happy and so are we!” CA likes to think that part of the reason it’s so good is because our house looks so nice! Watch the whole commercial:
Thank you, Courtesy Lincoln
It’s not every day you get to be part of a commercial. We thank Watson Creative and Courtesy Lincoln for the opportunity to participate in their creative process. Our house inspired them, just like our clients’ homes inspire us. Ready to create something special featuring your home? Contact us.
