meyer house

Location: Lake Oswego, Oregon

The Meyer House involves a complete remodel (interior and exterior) to an existing home. The original house will be gutted, leaving only the foundations, basement, first floor and first floor walls.

The renovated house will retain the same footprint, but feature new floor plans, roof lines, and exterior materials. The original house is 5,000 square feet and appears out of scale with the neighborhood. The new design retains the square footage, but breaks the massing into 3 smaller components – a garage wing, a living wing, and a sleeping wing.

The exterior of the renovated house will be finished with stainless steel panels, butt-joined cedar siding, wood windows, and a glass guardrail at the new deck.
