This project involved building a new exterior deck on an existing 1960’s ‘Rummer House.’ The structure of the existing deck had decayed to the point where the deck was no longer safe. Additionally, the existing deck was a ‘motel’ style deck; it was merely a balcony with no space for furniture and no connection to the yard around it.

The new deck, constructed entirely of ipe wood, is larger and provides space for exterior dining and seating. There are two stairs that connect the new deck with the yard below and a wrap-around area that connects the deck with the existing kitchen. Stair handrails are stainless steel.
