chung bathroom

Location: Portland, Oregon

This project involves the gut renovation to a tiny residential bathroom. Fixtures remain in their existing locations, but all finishes and cabinetry are new.

Floor tile is 12×12 slate set in a staggered pattern in the sink/toilet area. Matching slate mosaics cover the shower floor. 2×12 glass tile set vertically in a staggered bond features prominently on the sink wall, creating a focal point for the room.

The vanity is straight-grained walnut and hangs from the wall, allowing the floor tile to slide underneath and giving the illusion of more space. A single glass wall sconce hangs on the wall adjacent to the mirror, providing light and visual interest.
