bye bathroom

Location: Portland, Oregon

This project involved the gut renovation of a tiny bathroom in a 1910 Craftsman bungalow. The design combined traditional Craftsman materials and detailing with modern accents.

Traditional white subway tile was used on the walls and white hex tile was used on the floors. A traditional tiled arch was constructed over the tub. Clamshell light fixtures sit on each side of the sink vanity. Each of these materials help tie the bathroom in with the rest of the bungalow. But the traditional feel stops here.

The sink vanity is custom designed and crafted of straight-grained walnut and features a chunky, modern sink and counter combination. Faucets and fixtures are modern polished chrome. A thick walnut shelf and custom walnut medicine cabinet round out the design.
